In this post, we will be exploring three of these theories: Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory, Jean Piaget’s Cognitive Developmental Theory, and Mildred Parten’s Social Behaviour Theory. Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory WebbPlay comes in all shapes and sizes – imaginary, rule-bound, verbal or non-verbal, pretend, on your own or social, rough and tumble or quieter play – and all of these are beneficial for a child’s development. What’s important is how they are allowed to play.
